My mom's oncologist called today

Can I say, I love this man. He called over Christmas before her kidney operation from his vacation to talk to her. Twice. And the last two times he called her he called on a Sunday and today, Saturday. Never had a doctor before that called anytime other than office hours. He's awesome.

Anyway, he said that, and it's something I thought of and I had researched and found to be an obvious assumption - after my initial panic of course, that it was most likely elevated because of the kidney cancer. And he wouldn't have done the test now. Her gp, poor guy, was just trying to get back to normal and this is one of the times of year she always has the test done.

So, we can, at least for now, stop worrying about that. He said he wouldn't have ordered for at least another month. I figure she'll probably just wait and get it in the summer when she usually does along with the mri on her spine.

*insert sigh of relief smilie here*

Thanks to my sisters for the replies and good vibes and prayers.

Sometimes less testing is better! Honey, I am so very glad you have such a good doctor - most would have waited until you came in for an appointment 2 weeks later to say, "Oh it's probably the kidney, not the ovaries." A doctor who has the kindness to let his patients know as soon as he can, well, he is a treasure. He actually cares!!

I'm so glad the results got straightened out and properly interpreted. Now you tell your mom she has lots of people sending her (and you) good healing energy. I'm sure she will be feeling much better very soon. Big hugs to you sis!!

I told her how many of the friends I had online were sending her prayers and healthy vibes. She said she was very thankful. :)

Big hugs back at ya' sis.

Oh I'm so glad to hear it may not be what you thought but just an overly anxious're very fortunate to have a doctor that cares so much for his patients, most just put you on the merry-go-round and then spin it. Sending all kinds of good vibes your way sis.

Yes, we feel really lucky to have been sent to this doctor. He surpasses any other we've ever had.
