3D Rendering of a Lego Jet. I found the assembly instructions for this set on the Internet. I would have loved this set when I was a kid, but I suspect this is a more recent set based on the fact that it has parts I've never seen before. I modeled each piece and rendered this image with Lightwave 9.6.

Thanks. I found scans of the original Lego instruction online and modeled it from those.

Really great work! You should try to pick up the actual model, just for kicks. I'm working on building the UCS X-Wing I modeled ([link]) out of my own LEGO collection, maybe you can do the same with this one?

Thanks. You did great work on the X-Wing too. It might be cool to pick up the actual model, but sometimes sets from previous years are hard to find. It might be easier (though more expensive) to buy all the pieces.

Yikes, I just looked it up. Didn't realize it had gone up to $100! Last time I saw it in a store it was $20.

Must be limited quantity or something. I remember when I was a kid a thousand years ago a $50 set was a huge, high end set with a ton of pieces.

actually i think its more like 10 or so years old because i actually have that model in pieces but i remember building it quite a while ago one of my more favorite models they made.

It's all relative. To me 10 years ago is recent. ;) The sets I had as a kid were all from more than 30 years ago. It is a really cool set though. Too bad they didn't make more larger jets like this.
