Green Lantern Power Rings

This is a rendering of a new design for Green Lantern rings for cosplayers. I need your feedback.

The Green Lantern rings I currently sell are 3D printed in color, in dyed nylon, in 2 pieces which snap together with minimal effort. They are not very water resistant and not very UV resistant (the colors can fade over time with exposure to sunlight). The nylon rings also have a slightly rough, grainy texture.

This new design is different because it can be 3D printed as a single piece (no assembly required) in one of a couple new choices of materials that both have a higher level of detail, durability, and surface quality than the old nylon ones. The difference is that they do not come in color. They require painting.

HERE IS THE KEY QUESTION:
Is it worth it to you as a cosplayer or collector to get higher detail, more durable rings if you have to paint them yourself?

Here are the cost considerations:
*The old, colored nylon rings cost roughly $20 (depending on ring size - smaller sizes cost less)

[option 1] The new design in Allumide (a light gray composite of nylon and alluminum) costs roughly $18
[option 2] The new design in jewelry-quality polished brass costs roughly $90

Are either of these two options worth it to you if you have to paint them yourself?

Thanks for your help! :)
