Background After I create the series on Sakura Kusagano from street fighters, I found myself choosing between another Street Fighter Chun Li or Mai Shiranui as the next photorealistic challenge. I went with Mai without hesitation. There are a lot of great anime, illustration, and CG artwork of Mai, both official and fan-made, created over the past few decades. She is also a very popular cosplay character, though I have yet to come across a cosplay that matches how I visualise her.
