I read all of them...
but your black cat comic is what got me....My family adopted 3 cats in 2009 when i was 9 years old. two littermates and one other kitten.
The littermates were both black cats. the other is a tabby.
Baby Bear and Catalina both passes of large cell lymphoma in 2018 and 2019 respectively. I still miss them. they were only 10.
Seeing Baby Bear waste away from Cancer was hard on me and my mom...but I held it in for her and his sakes...after we had to make the call nobody ever wants to make so he wouldn't be suffering anymore...that's when I lost my shit bawling.
I held his paw as he left us.
the funny thing was...catalina started coming out of her shell when she also started to show signs of the cancer...but since she was so shy and poking medicene and taking her to the vet would likely make it worse, we decided to allow her to go on her own. she went in her sleep we think because one day we found her by the water heater on her side. I'm glad she allowed me to hold her and came up to me more though. I'll always remember that.
