Right now I am stewing on an odd request I got through my Facebook page. A fellow sent me a message - I don't want to embarrass the poor guy so I will not go into whom he is, where he's from etc. - but he was asking if I'd be able to visit his home state as a cosplayer and how much it would cost to get me there.
I was a little confused and because I've been trying to be more mindful and less fighty lately, I asked him to clarify whether it was for a convention or whether it was a personal visit so he could hang out with a cute cosplay girl. I asked about this not because I was afraid of him taking advantage of me, but the other way around.
Ha ha! So I actually remembered to update this thing for once. Go me.
Right now I'm looking at how 2015 has gone cosplay-wise and what my goals are for the next few years.
I actually feel like I'm in a bit of a creative rut right now. I made more costumes this year compared to 2014, but for the most part I don't think they were as challenging or ambitious. I could just be being too hard on myself though? It can also be pretty frustrating that people act competitive and self-involved. Even for someone like me who's been cosplaying for so long and has fun with it, I still get discouraged.
