Burning Books

To burn a book is to commit a sin
                                     offense
                                     transgression

A destruction of art
                             spirit
                             mind

An insult on human progress
                                   intelligence
                                   wisdom

Within every page was captured life
                                                          death
                                                          soul

So to burn a book is to snuff
                                        defile
                                        murder

And once the page has crumbled to ash everything is gone
                                                                                               vanished
                                                                                               lost

forever
all time
eternity
