Oil on canvas, 2007. About 48" by 36".

UPDATE (3/23/2014): Holey Moley! (Does anyone say that anymore?) A Daily Deviation! My most fervent thanks to Cher of ArtByCher for suggesting this work. And big thanks to everyone who has commented. I'll get around to thanking you, one by one, presently. Now I'm going to go have a beer, or six.

UPDATE (3/24/2014): I'm still recovering from the response that this painting got. Wow.

I've tried to respond to all the comments, but there's no way I can respond to all the people who Favorited it, or who added it to their collections. So, a global Thanks! to those people.

I wish you all a wonderful, creative, exhilarating, fruitful Spring, whether you are alone, grappling with your chosen medium, or playing, or working, or spending sweet hours with those you love.

Why is this kind of work so rare in your gallery?  What a pity!

Two reasons. 1) Time. 2) Money. Well, three reasons -- 3) Survival. But I appreciate your sentiment greatly. Thank you!

Thank you, very much, indeed.

There is no doubt where you and the instrument would be.... ;)

...a splendid concept though! In an earlier time,
Mr Day would've been easily as admired and popular
as Maxfield Parrish....

 Who's Maxfield Parrish??

There are many
of his works here - he made his reputation
in advertising - the epitome of "decorative art":
- hope this link works:

Thank you to let me know this "Pantheist"...I didn't know him. He's Californian?

Wow.  This is so beautiful, it might even make me cry.  J. S. Bach is doing this right now, for sure.

Thanks for your interest! My apologies for taking so long to get back to you. I haven't been a very good deviantART citizen lately.

The last time someone asked me that, I told them $10000. That was maybe a bit high -- but you can see from that how much this piece means to me.
