Nerd Bird

This little penguin decided one day that getting eaten by polar bears* and swimming in ice water wasn't all it's cracked up to be. Who says penguins have to be fishers? He's going to get a respectable job and be a lawyer. He's already got the finely tailored suit, so now he spends his time hitting the books. Strangely enough, his parents just can't see the point in a penguin getting a law degree.

I made this studious little penguin for my fiance's sister. She is currently in law school and has an affection for penguins. I thought the little guy came out pretty cute. I loved making his little tiny glasses and book.

*For those of you concerned about how polar bears and penguins ended up in the same hemisphere, this bird's family decided to be the first penguins to move north of the equator. They had heard there was prime real estate up north just for the taking, and they never looked back...even after finding out about the polar bears.
