This is my new, original drawing of Haaashastaak, as it might have appeared (but for deadline constraints) on page 90 of the Melnibonean chapter of the original Deities and Demigods for AD&D (TSR Hobbies, 1980 edition).

"Haaashastaak appears much like a giant lyrannosaurus rex. If, after summoning him, the caller lacks the proper means to send him back, he will eat the caller and then disappear. Returning him requires the power of a wish. While he has no human worshipers, he is revered by all reptilian types."

Check out my latest Kickstarter art project: the Legions of the Petal Throne Painting Guide from Dragon Magazine #6! The costumes and creatures from TSR's classic RPG 'Empire of the Petal Throne', created by Professor M.A.R. Barker, are truly fantastic, and the deadline to back this project is midnight on Sunday December 2! [link]

The illustrations from that project will be featured in my upcoming RPG "Bethorm: The Plane of Tekumel"! [link]

I was gonna ask, "if he's a lizard why does he look like a t-rex." Then I read the description.

Whoops. He looks pretty awesome. Especially the eyes.

I was going to make a throwaway jocular post complaining about how that looks nothing like Jim Morrison. Except it actually kind of does. Awesome work as always, sir.

You're just having trouble recognizing him without his guitar ;-)

Nice textures. Looks like he would be perfect for a Cavemaster crossover!
