Good morning, good evening, good day.
Hello everyone. Thank you for the views and the praise and the randomness. Oh and the daily deviation and llamas.

Some updates.

(1) That giant aquatic mouth of a creature all of you seem to enjoy so much got into Spectrum 17. I am stoked.

(2) I've been writing the script and working out details for Lost Lives, the graphic novel I intend to put out someday. Been reading George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire and the amount of detail he puts into his world and his characters is something that's been pretty helpful when coming up with ideas for my own world.

(3) Kaki King is beautiful and downright fucking amazing to see in live performance. I am gonna paint her.

(4) Believe it or not, I'm a colorist now for one Aspen comics' Blue Descent. They are very chill and not having to work day to day in some game or movie studio as was one of my original possible career paths gives me a lot of time to work on my own universe.  Also, now I (sorta) have a foot into the comics industry (hopefully.)

(5) My friend is putting out a graphic novel based on the Pinocchio retelling pieces I did. I shall be designing additional characters and random locales for the project.

(6) Yes, I will be posting new artwork soon and maybe pages from the coloring gig once the initial book's been out long enough.
I want to say the art school destroyed most of my will to create for some time and I'm only now starting to recover by finding joy in what I do again.  What I do have from this period of creative recovery are probably 20 or so things I started on but never completed. Maybe you'll never see them. Ever.  Maybe you will.

(7) I am..somewhat open to the idea of doing commissions if anyone's interested in that sorta thing. However, this being something I haven't done before, I have no idea how much people would be willing to pay for whatever it is they want me to do, much less comprehend that people would pay in the first place.
Meeeh.

(9) If you find me randomly watching you back 6 months later, it's because I suck and almost never check this place. So after going through 900+ watches I'm finally just getting to the peeps at the bottom of the list.

Anyhow, since I'm probably gonna be using this semi-professionally now (whatever the hell that means) I will quite likely be using/updating this thing more frequently (whatever the hell that means..)

Hallo my poor neglected journal.

I graduate in 2 weeks.


God I've grown to hate my school.

Expect a sudden influx of new work and other surprises as soon as all this madness is over.

First off, thanks for all the faves and watches. I wasn't expecting so huge a response to a simple assignment.  I guess it means it was a success.


Which brings me to my second point. I'm a kinda guy who goes and checks out every user who watches or faves my work. Partly to get an idea of what kind of audience I have and partly to find any hidden talents amongst all the deviants here.  I remember being largely unknown when I first got my account and my friends consisted of people I knew in real life or folks who actually liked my work from the beginning. You know who you guys are. I thank you for being there from the start.
So for the most part, my presence here was under the radar and a lot of the more popular users shrugged me over. Now that I have like a few thousand messages to sort through thanks to the Daily Deviation, I can see why. There are simply too many of you to pay attention to. GunnerRomantic is one those amazing but humble artists who somehow looked past all the mess and clutter of developing work and saw my potential. It really meant a lot to me to have someone indubitably more skillful pay attention. My work is still evolving and I one day hope to have such strength in my own style.  Her act inspires me to do the same. So if you're one of those folks who wonder just why the heck I'm watching you, that's why. Just as I notice my own growth, I want to see your growth and see what becomes of it.

But anyways, enough..mushy stuff. 2136 messages really is alot to go through and checking out the pages of all those users will take forever. I've read the majority of your comments (I think) and I've taken note of who faved my work and who's actually watching me. There are definitely more faves than watches so I'm assuming those that just faved my DD like the fireworks and don't wanna stick around for everything else.  I'll delete those messages. Those who've actually friended me, thank you. I'll check you guys out and if you intrigue me, I'll return the favor.
