SOCIAL CHAOS FULL by jedeye459 SOCIAL CHAOS FULL by jedeye459
This was done for a class project. The final piece will be mounted on a wooden support 60x20 and the drop shadows emulate the multiple levels of the piece, screws, and bolts will hold the different elements up to 2 inches off the base level. I am hoping to be able to get all the elements threw daprints, so there will be several pieces that are just support, but this is close to what the full piece will look like. I will submit a photo of the completed piece when it is done.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, as I plan on doing 2-3 more(hopefully as the semester progresses)

Nice work. I love the layering of the elements and the texture.
It will be most schmick when you print it and mount it as described. The built factor should definitely add to the impact.

Good work jedeye

I love the old school style of this.

The use of more innovative ideas really shows in this.

the compilation of this is so complex that you just cant help but stare at it for a really long time :)

Looks great so like the face and stuff will be on another image layer ontop of the big one?

I love the left side where only a bit of colour shows through and the clean lines of the border really contrast with the overall grunginess of the composition. Towards the right where all of the photos and renders are used there is a feeling of chaos. The way areas are cut, duplicated and shrunk adds to this feeling. There seems to be uite a dark overtone to this as well if I look further into the photos and faces... they show quite delapidated places, places that are quite run-down and the fact that the eyes are missing from the face is quite intriguing too, maybe it could be because they are often the main features of a face, and when they are unseen it's almost hard to recognise someone. the use of dirty pinks over the greyscale background adds a nice contrast as well, but not too much so that the moody feel is lost. The large typo that is partially obscured at the bottom is nice too, it sums up the overall feel of the image; where nothin is actually revealed fully... I think that the renders could be improved upon though, maybe adding a bumpmap texture of a rough wall or rust maybe? Just to enhance the mood, as they seem quite plain at the moment.

I would love to see the final image of this, a fullscale final construct with all the screws and bolts would be an impressive sight, especially if you maybe try to rust them, again to enhance the mood and overall presentation.

Just my thoughts on this. :)

First - I would like to say that what I love most about your gallery is detail, detail, detail. Something you pay fine-tuned attention to. This piece is no exception. I love the seperation of the face and the use of multi-levels. Your color choices are excellent as they bring it all together with the architechural photos. I'm not fond of the title social chaos as I'm not sure how you are trying to depict that. But, then it certainly is not up to me to determine a title and meaning by your work and personal goal in this. Regardless...I love this piece. I love most all of your work. Excellent. Cant wait to see the completed piece mounted!
