Ohmygosh That's so sweet thank you! ^^
I used to compete in contests a lot when I was in high school and even got some paid commissons that cost more, (like the dog that says "howard" was a commission for someones pet whod passed away and it cost about $130) I had always been good at realism and kinda afraid to draw anime art and OCs because I had a friend who was really good at that and compared to her I hid my sketchbook and just competed in contests because I had double art classes in drawing IV and painting III so I had a lot of time to learn and stuff. (I blew through assignments and teacher had to give me special lessons for contests) I was also the art club president, as well as the softball pitcher, so I remember having a lot of after school stuff all the time and didn't have time for anime.
It was only a couple years ago (when I was already in my 20s) when I started my DA I decided to pursue anime and manga because its the art form I feel the most creative freedom with and it makes me the most happy. ^^ I do still have realism commissions available though through a separate journal portal though it costs much more with my level of education on it.
Realism and still life commissions
I should actually put the link in my realism showcase now that I think about it, haha. ^^;
