Well, in case you didn't notice, I'm uploading more Ruby Red pages to this site. A few months ago I had a small snafu with my site, so I figured it couldn't hurt to have a mirror.  Since so much of the comic is already on here, I decided to stick with it. I'm about 80 pages behind the site's most recent update so we'll see how it goes The comics are all up to date here, so go ahead and read it all! Here's the Ruby Red gallery and the site archive, and if you'd like to start from the start, you can start here or here (don't get me started...)

In case you missed it, I did all of #inktober2017 and put them up on Instagram and Twitter! You can see the colored version with all 32 (!) drawings over on my Patreon.

Anyway, go read my webcomic and buy things from me.

I am attempting inktober over on instagram. The theme I'm going with is OCs from stories that I am working on, including but not limited to Ruby Red, Over the River, and more. Check it out! I will make a post with all of them together sometime in November, and if I'm feeling really ambitious, I'll color them and put those on my Patreon.

Anyway, go read my webcomic and buy things from me.

Guess what everyone!

I made a Patreon!  I've been picking at it on and off for a while, and figured it was finally time to just launch the thing.  There are five reward tiers to choose from, and all patrons will get to see Ruby Red a day early, so go take a look!

Patreon lets you pledge money to a creator in exchange for rewards. You can select how much you want to pledge each month, and can adjust the amount or cancel your pledge anytime. Becoming a patron of my art is a great way to contribute to the free webcomics I make.

This is a work in progress, and I'm bound to think of new things I can do for my patrons.  Suggestions are always welcome!

It's been a while!  I've been pretty active elsewhere on the web, but I've neglected Deviant Art in the past couple years.  Sorry about that!  I've been posting more sketchbook and in-progress art over at Instagram, and finished artwork on my Portfolio website.  And, of course, Ruby Red has been updating regularly every Monday!  So I'm not dead, I haven't given up my art in favor of a more promising career in competitive frisbee golf, I promise.

My SquareUp store is still up, too, and includes a new piece of art I did for the Doubleclicks' music video "Women Know Math." And... keep your eyes out for Volume 2 of Ruby Red! I'm waiting for the physical proof copy, then I'll probably go ahead and order some for the store.

Lastly, I'm open for commissions! Click on the chart below for basic pricing information, or contact me through my website if you have something else in mind you’d like me to draw.

Penultimately, my mini-comic Over the River is complete!  Well, there’s a bit of a cliffhanger, but that’s it for right now.  Go check it out!

Lastly, Ruby Red is still coming along.  I am in the process of inking right now.  I’m doing something new for these pages–I drew the pencils in blue lead, so I can skip over the erasing stage and save my wrist some trouble.  My favorite stage of comic-making changes every time I change stages, but I really do enjoy inking.  There is something completely satisfying about seeing the final form of the comic take shape.

Mochi-Day and Ruby Red news

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 23, 2015, 9:04 PM

I've got a surprise one-day convention this weekend!  Mochi-Day in Liberty, SC!  Admission is just $5, so really, how can you go wrong?  I'll have the usual prints, books, and buttons, and I will be doing commissions.  I will be sharing a table with fellow artist Alicia!  See you there!

So, I know I haven't been updating RUBY RED on here for a while, but last Monday, Chapter One: The Woman in Red came to a close.  We've still got four more chapters to go, but I'm taking a break before starting on Chapter Two:  Blue-Eyed Boy.  Today's comic is technically a rearranged version of the cover to issue #7.  I'm going to work on the planning stages of Chapter Two (book two? whatever) for a while so that once I start updating, I can get through the whole chapter without another hiatus.  The Woman in Red has been a wild ride since its start, but I've learned a lot so far.  I'm really excited for what strange new horrible frustrating challenges the next four chapters will bring.

If you're reading this but for some reason haven't read the comic yet, go!  Here's THE first page!

Keep up with me on facebook - deviantart - twitter - tumblr - instagram to see when the comic comes back, and other things I do. If none of those sound appealing, shoot me an email here and I'll add you to a list to be notified when Ruby Red updates again.  Also check out my portfolio website!

SC Comicon

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 13, 2014, 10:56 PM

I will have a table at SC Comicon in Greenville, SC, March 21-22!  I will not be at NashiCon this year (got a wedding to go to), but I am looking at a few other cons later in the year.  Hope to see you guys in March!

Ruby Red is still on hiatus, unfortunately.  There are about 22 more pages up on the main site than there are on here, so if you haven't caught up, now's a great time to do that!  Sorry I have been MIA on here.  I do check my messages regularly, so if you ever need to ask me anything, you can reach me here on dA :3

Ruby Red - end of hiatus

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 3, 2014, 7:28 PM

Ruby Red is updating again!  Mondays and Fridays, just like before.

I won't be uploading it here to dA because it's too much to keep up with (at least for now, I might do a mass-upload later on), but I will post updates each week linking to that week's comics.

You can still buy the first volume online, too!

Ruby Red Update

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 2, 2014, 2:57 PM

</span>You can buy my comic, Ruby Red, online here through SquareUp.  I went with that instead of BigCartel/Paypal because it seemed like a simpler process for me, but if you'd prefer to pay through paypal, send me a message.

Also, Ruby Red will be returning in August.  You can see pictures of my progress on Instagram (which also get sent to twitter and tumblr).  Barring any surprises, it will be updated twice a week for the rest of the year.

HeroesCon was a blast, and I hope I'll get to go again in 2015.  I'm not doing anymore conventions this year, but I plan on doing more next year.  Maybe I'll actually travel out of the Carolinas?? We will see.

HeroesCon this weekend!

HeroesCon

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 8, 2014, 2:01 PM

HeroesCon is coming up, and I will be sharing a table with BlacQueen again!  Copies of Ruby Red will be available for purchase, as will prints and commissions and buttons.

As of right now, we will be at table AA-623!

 heroescon2014-artistalley

Meanwhile, I am working on the next pages of Ruby Red.  The hiatus is going on a little longer than I anticipated, but Ruby Red will be back soon enough.  You can follow me on Twitter or Tumblr or Facebook if you want to be kept up to date on the progress of the comic (admittedly I don't update facebook much, but I will with the things that matter).

See y'all at the con!

(If you still haven't answered this poll, please do!)

Oh hey it's May

Journal Entry: Wed May 21, 2014, 6:51 PM

Get excited!  HeroesCon is a month away!  Yeah!

NashiCon was lots of fun and a good experience.  In addition to hanging out with BlacQueen, I got to see lots of other artists and even did a couple of art trades.  Orcagirl2001 was one of those artists--go check out her stuff!  I still haven't gone through the business cards I took from everyone's table, but it usually takes me a few months to sit down and do that.

I also went to SC Comicon here in Greenville (run by Borderlands), and it was wonderful.  I did not have a table since I'd just been out of town for a week and a half and was overwhelmed with other stuff, and I only got to go on Sunday.  Even so it was quite a crowd and lots of fun  Next year I will definitely get a table there.

Ruby Red will most likely be returning after HeroesCon, and the books will go up for sale after the con as well.  Answer this poll, btw, it will help me.

In other news, I have started on another project.  A collaboration, in fact.

Well, back to the drawing board for me... :3

Everything's coming up Milhouse

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 22, 2014, 9:02 PM

NashiCon was awesome! Thanks to everyone who stopped by. I was lucky enough to meet some amazing artists too, who I will link to in my next journal. Haven't had a chance to look through my messages yet, but soon! Soon...

NASHICON

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 18, 2014, 2:50 PM

NashiCon tomorrow and Sunday!  I won't be at the pre-con party tonight, but Kiara (BlacQueen) will.  Go see her, and come see us both at Table E in Artist Alley over the weekend!
