Eternal Silence
I have heard of a jail,
Called CECOT in El Salvador,
Where the inmates,
Are forbidden to talk.
The silence is deafening,
Or so I understand,
Where they can only look...
And share the pain in their eyes.
Rumi said that silence
Was the true language of God,
You know what else is silent?
The void of nothingness.
Perhaps what we hear in silence,
Is our own voice speaking,
The voice inside ourselves,
That fills the void with meaning.
