The Nihilist
Remastered
By J.C. Solis
Have We ever even had a future?
As our sinful lives have closed these doors
These pretty and significant moments
Are now no longer with us anymore
We never cared for what the future brings
We never agreed to our own reasons
We never clung to our fast-fading hopes
We never had this Hope to believe in
We never surmised the things that we’ve done
Would ever have consequences so dire
As our world rots and our hearts turn to stone
And the whole planet starts to catch on fire
We kill and we murder, always the same
For we only have ourselves for this blame
We pursue this dogma with great bloodlust
We cut and we stab and we hurt and maim
For all these things We have done to ourselves
Were born from the fires of our baleful hate
We deserve the results that We have now
Since We enjoyed the pain that we’d create
For this is human nature at its bleak
This Nihilism that is all around
We no longer believe in the meaning
Of our past joys and happiness abound
The meaning of this Insanity here
Shows a heartlessness that we cannot bear
For We, Humans, never understood why
We simply never developed a care
And as a Nihilist, I’ve come to see
How our mournful plight has come to be
For though we’re not bound and we are set free
Our own selfishness brought us to our knees
And as I walk this scorched earth forgotten
And remember all that used to be there
Will one now see all that was and was done
The stillness of this death that’s in the air
The worth of this land has gone up in flames
And the value of all that was is gone
No more life and no more joy is around
For this is how humanity went wrong
And that idea is a paradox
That this whole world ever had a meaning
For that alone is our biggest lie told
From which we all still continue weaning
For there is no reason that this world gave
To ever give meaning to Life at all
Which means there’s nothing that can hold us back
And there’s nothing that can prevent our fall
And yet still, despite the Great Good and Bad
This World’s Life carries on with no worry
There is no fear of this lack of meaning
And to find the answer, there’s no hurry
For though the Meaning of All is absent
The world moves on with great fire and might
For the greater worries that we now know
Are on how to greet Tomorrow’s new light
Because though there is no Meaning around
The clock tics and tocks the coming new day
The future is calling us to move on
As all Life moves on in so many ways
For the Meaning never truly mattered
For us to live the lives that We now live
For the joy and happiness we now share
Have plenty of goodwill for us to give
But beware, for though there are still good men
The wicked still wish to abuse and kill
To do whatever they want to this world
And bring us a sad fate with their cruel wills
For though there are still righteous men abound
The Meaning of Life is still not yet known
For those who wish to abuse and control
Will use this for their wickedness as shown
For the Meaning is not out there to see
And so, some say that life has no value
There is nothing for mankind to grab hold
And there’s nothing out there that can save you
For without the Meaning of our short lives
The Greatest Evils can be made and shown
All kinds of wickedness are justified
And this cruelty’s results fall on our own
This is the worst of all Humanity
The worst of our hearts that cackles with glee
That commits with joy such atrocities
And summons our evils for eternity
This is the world that so many still fear
Because the Meaning of Life is not here
A dark world that we all want to stay clear
A world that, through history, We came near
Yet, though in my mind I’m a nihilist
For humanity, towards God, I pray
Knowing what we still are capable of
So we’re still alive the following day
For though I am a Nihilist in mind
I still pray that we will grow to be kind
Through pride and greed, we have now become blind
As we purge all Light and Good that we find
For though I am a Nihilist in heart
I still care for those who fell to their knees
And I fear for the pain that we all can cause
When our worst has been finally set free
And when the worst within our bloodied hearts
Is unbound and loosened from its black chains
Will the whole of the world and all we know
Shall forever remain in woe and pain…
…I’m a Nihilist, the world doesn’t care
As I think dark things that no one would dare
For I see our arrogance in the air
I see the future that We should beware
For the universe offers no answer
To the Meaning of Life that is not here
And if we’re not careful with this notion
We may just lose all that we still hold dear
This is the world without meaning in sum
A world with a mind that is dark and numb
Nihilists see this great vision so glum
We see our pride and our ignorance dumb
And if you’re not careful without meaning
Then your death is not truly far behind
So listen to this Nihilist’s warning
Remember to always be warm and kind
Remember the Meaning of Nothing here
Learn to live life without nothing to live
Learn that nothing is more important
Than the Joy and the Hope that We can give
The Universe is cruel, and Man crueler
But I hope what I taught will let you see
Nothing yet Everything still has its worth
Move on with Life, no matter what will be…

Disrupted Reality
A remaster of one of my more deeply introspective poems. One that talks about the beauty and the dangers of the belief in nothing, and just how horrible things can get when nothing has any value.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little poem. And beware for when your thoughts take you to dark places that you may not be ready to face.
A nihilistic belief in nothing is not for everyone. Just be careful with what you believe...
