Nyan Cat Cake

This is the 2nd installment of Ben's Birthday cakes. This time it was his 21st and the only instructions were: nyan cat, and boysenberry flavour.

So I got my creative on again and set about colouring the fondant and cutting it out in pixel shapes from a picture of the nyan cat.

I found boysenberry flavouring at Spotlight, but it wasn't strong enough for the size of the cake batter, so I added chambord liqueur and some blueberry syrup as well. I divided the batter into six portions, and coloured each of them a colour of the nyan cat rainbow.

I got Ben to cut the corner off the cake so that everyone could see the rainbow effect inside All in all this took me about a day.
