I spent the entire day in a national park, in observation posts or walking by the lakes. While I wasn'ty fortunate to spot a kingfisher or an osprey (and I did stay at two locations for 4 hours), I spotted quite a few egrets, herons, ducks, swans. Unfortunately, 400 mm is quite short for wildlife photography and all the pictures I have of these birds had to be cropped. Fortunately, I think some came out quite well given the distance and cropping, and I'll be uploading them before the end of the week end.

This morning I decided to try real wildlife photography for the first time. I got up and headed to the woods. What I didn't know, is that wild birds aren't as fearless as pigeons. I spotted a beautiful heron in a lake, but by the time I was in sight he had already flown away. And I was still pretty far. I did get a fire salamander, which are becoming rare in France because of pollution.Better luck next time !
