Originally established in "Mill-e-wah-kay" Wisconsin, this once popular (now popular again) taste of the gods is now brewed in Woodridge, Illinois. Originally called, "BEST SELECT", this was my Grandma's favorite beer. "America's Best" from the WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION, is an award the seems to be that of urban legend. PBR me ASAP!
-Peak sales of PBR were in 1977, with 18 million barrels being produced. That number dropped to below a million by the time 2001 rolled around.
-The popularity began to rise again in cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, and Portland in early 2005, thanks to the hipsters.
-"Heineken? Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!" quote from Frank Booth (Played by Dennis Hopper) in the movie "Blue Velvet"
-"Rednecks, White socks, and Pabst Blue Ribbon", referral of a 1973 song by country artist, Johnny Russel

We're doing a gallery exhibit of Blue Velvet inspired art as part of a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the film in Wilmington North Carolina where the film was shot. These events will be part of the Cucalorus Film Festival November 10-13th. I hope you'll submit this piece. There's a call to artists here:
Just to be clear, I'm organizing the over all event, I'm not the judge, so I can't say it's in. But I do think it's good and I think you should submit it, and anything else you think would be appropriate.
