1st Annual Apollonian Showing Off

Our stables are located in a mysterious World of Colderra on little island called Evenland. Many extraordinary creatures live here. Besides water unicorns called Nagians, there are also Forest horses which can blend in with the environment, Kelephan ponies which are made of stone or minerals, Markhorses which are able to change color of their horns and eyes, or even whole body, according to their mood, and you can find several other creatures here. As for the stables, they were built only recently, but they should provide every necessary care and, most importantly, all kinds of arenas and tracks to be able to organize all possible events. We are planning to extend our lands to build training and competing ground for other creatures living in Colderra.

   General rules and info   

- the contest starts today, October 7th, and ends on  January 7th 2016 (midnight)
- pre-registration is needed, so you can get your starting number
- there will be 3 classes: Halter, Cross-Country and Flat Racing
- the contest is held during summer time, the whole resort is covered with reddish sand and there is no fence around the area
- the contest is open for every breed, even fantasy, horses CAN use their special powers, but cannot cheat (eg. flying over obstacles)
- tracing and using references is ok, just link back to the original picture
- no participation limit
- one horse can only enter this event once
- you can take part in each class, but with different horses
- no photo backgrounds or photomanipulations, only drawings and paintings made by you
- no re-using old images, the entry must be drawn specifically and only for this event
- you can make collaborations 
- extra images are welcomed and each will be counted +1 point towards your score (maximum of 3 extra pictures)
- including your starting number will give you +1 point
- including your country flag will give you +1 point
- including our stable insignia will give you +2 points
- including staff and/or horses (--- ESTABLOS DE APOLLONIA --- see the list of our horses here) in the story will give you +1 point each (maximum of 3); including them in the main entry picture will give you +2 points each (maximum of 2)
- advertising our show in your journals and pools - optional (no points for that though )

  Halter show

 

   Schedule and weather forecast + important places in stables   

- pay attention to our stable map, you can see where the main entrance and stables are, where the halter show is held, where the flat run is held and, last but not least, the cross country track is shown here with all the obstacles
- the second picture shows our halter "arena" which is not fenced, some parts of earth were covered with white bricks so that the horse can stand and move firmly, there are sand dunes in the distance
- the last picture shows how the main entry looks like - there are 3 steps leading to 5 massive columns, a giant leopard gecko Apollonia is wrapping herself around the middle column, on the left and right side you can see entrances to the stables

  1^st day | arrival party by the entrance | sunny whole day | all guests gather in front of the entrance and have a welcome drink together | the “coldest” day of all - only 26 °C 
  2^nd day | halter | arena n 7 | no age limit | held in the evening with an incredibly colorful sunset casting long shadows | usage of Egyptian and other items crafted by me on your horse will result in more points (+2 points to be exact), you can order such item for 50 and use it ever since | several birds can be seen in the distance| there is no fence around the arena| no palms can be seen around, only the sand dunes | 34 °C
  3^rd day | flat racing | track n 10 | horses from 2 to 10 years of age | held in the morning till noon | brown wooden fence is around the whole track | horses should wear colourful tack and riders fitting clothes | provide yourself and your horse not with a stripe or star symbols, but Egyptian-and-ancient-like ones on your clothes | put the name of your stables on your saddle-cloth (results in +1 point towards the score) | the more horses you will show in the race, the more points you will get for each one of them (maximum of 10), which can be our stable horses, your horses, but the best would be if you draw other participants' horses | 32 °C
  4^th day | cross country | track n 11 | horses from 4 to 12 years of age | held in the afternoon | there is no fence, but tall palms all around the track | you have to show your horse jumping across or near the obstacle, for showing him without an obstacle nearby you will get -10 points | moreover, these are specially-designed obstacles: flowery jump, an abyss jump, a quicksand jump, a pyramid jump, a fallen palm jump and a sand camel cross jump | in the middle of the track, there is an oasis | the 4^th day is the hottest of all, show your horse sweating | 39 °C
  5^th day | judging | all guests and their horses gather in front of the stables and around the fountain | the results will be announced by midday when the sun is highest on the sky and it casts no shadows | 33 °C
