As I search through the few sites I can afford (Deviant Art is great!), I continue to be amazed at the general lack of knowledge regarding copyright. Flickr is the worst in this regard, DA seems to be the best.
When something is in the public domain, it means either that the copyright has expired (for example, the author has died more than 70 years ago) or that the creator has surrendered his rights and allowed the general public to do what they want with his/her image. I am still alive, but I have essentially put my image of the glass ceiling into the public domain. Merely posting something to DA does not put it into the public domain.
It is not uncommon for me to find someone posting a great pic as being in the public domain when all they've done is downloaded it from another website. Thus the original creator has not signed off any rights at all...

Subscription Update
Thank to all of you who are subscribing! Delving into Artificially Intelligent image generation has recently led me to add a new tier, AI Images. DA's rules don't allow the posting of images from its DreamUp here, so most of these will be generated on Leonardo, Playground, or Bing or one or two others. DreamUp images will be occasionally posted but for comparison purposes only. Where appropriate, I will comment on the trials and tribulations of AI. Only occasionally will I post images separately on my two story tiers and always to the images tier as well. Each of my stories or episodes will be accompanied by an image relating to it and these posts will often be more intensely NSFW than allowed by DA on its main pages. My erotic combat stories are posted first on DA and some are posted nowhere else. When a story is published in eBook form, it will not include images beyond what is on the cover. My Subscription Service
I have moved my subscription service here (it was previously on Patreon). Subscription content will be erotic stories, decidedly Not Safe For Work, featuring wrestling and other sexy combat scenarios. Each posting will be accompanied by the photo or other illustration. These often inspired the story and now help to illustrate it. My rotation will continue, by and large, to follow the monthly cycle already established. I have written eight 10,000 to 12,000 word short stories which are now in the process of being revised and edited. I expect to post one of these stories, in episodic form, each month. In addition, there will be one or more episodes of the Super Sexy Spies series. Plus a one-off story. Maybe more... Please subscribe to add your support to this continued workflow. All those Blurry Images?
For those of you wondering what's going on, I'm transferring my Patreon subscription service to DA where hopefully it will find a more hospitable environment.
