...in a very businessmanlike-Pokemon trainer attire, si.
:iconry-spirit: <-- he my senpai :3

I've actually seen him at the same convention 2 times, and I've also spoken to him in a different language because I'm just weird okay, don't judge which was really cool. As Nelson Mandela once said:
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."

So Ry, this is for you. Why? Because you have a brilliant sense of humour, your art style is unique and has a finesse to it, and you've also inspired many (including me). :)
So I hope you like your gift. You deserve it. Like, really. also, sorry that I actually made your portrait a colour experiment - since that's what it originally was... but I hope you like the outcome nonetheless :)
Dat background tho. I've improved slightly I guess????not rly actually

oke time for me to go hide in a corner, bai everyone
Also, your critiques are very welcome. I feel like there's something that's a bit off and I can't quite put my finger on it.
Oh btw this is definitely not very accurate compared to his actual appearance. xD

Oh wow I only just saw this. I have been so tired after convention I did not have time to check DA till now. This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for this gift! Is it my birthday?! Also I read the texts below, now I understand why you chose to speak to me in chinese haha. I was a little confused and had to switch my mindset to asian mode when you spoke Chinese to me haha, but when it comes to Chinese sometimes I cant remember the words. ANyways thank you so much for drawing this. I have put it in the 'Drawings of me by other people. Thank you all' section of my main page. Never stop drawing and keep improving your skills :)

Oh nah it's cool. I get that your work is tiring, especially since you need to talk to so many people :)
Thanks, by the way! I was doing a lot of experimentation mainly on your face with colours so that it would look like it had more depth to it. By the way, it's your birthday in another dimension. Happy birthday! :XD:

I mainly spoke Chinese with you because I was curious about how fluent you were, plus it's really cool when you know someone else who isn't in your family who speaks a language you do :3 and yes, the Asian mode = best mode. Since Cantonese is so tonal, I get what you mean - and plus, it's easy to forget words if you don't use them frequently :<

Thanks for adding my work to your collection, and thanks for the encouragement too! I'll definitely try and keep improving my skills :D
Here's a feature for your comment too =p

P.S. Do you also speak any Mandarin? Just curious lel

Actually my mando is quite horrible as well, since I use it a lot less often compared to Cantonese. In actual fact, it's better to say I don't speak it at all :3
Mando speakers have it easy though since it's a lot easier to tone correctly compared to Cantonese. Ask a foreigner to say something like "I like your artwork" in Canto and you'll likely be laughing a lot (as well as calling them drunk and telling them to go home). Ask them to say it in Mando and you're likely to start praising them instead of laughing.

I'll make sure to test you the next time we meet...huehue, and hopefully by that time I'll be fluent enough oh what's that? I didn't say anything... >: )

Omg, I realised just now what exactly it's missing.
Really cool blur effects so that it makes it look like it's actually windy. Aw well, I don't really have enough time to fix it atm. Maybe one day I'll remaster it or something :>
