Wonderful picture. This one reminds me of the Sims series of games where when the people are thinking you sometimes see a picture of what they are thinking of in little word bubbles.

My favorite part is how you put the "conversations" in... it makes you really think about them as people talking, and makes you wonder what's going through their minds

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an O.D.D.(^oibyrd's daily devs) feature :winner: ! congrats!!!
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists with a fair amount of traffic to their work) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA. *PLZ DO KEEP IN MIND - some of the features are quite popular and obviously don't need extra help - however - I enjoy posting them because they inspire other artists. Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

Cool. The "Speech pictures" reminds me a lot of . They also kind of remind me of the game "clue" for some reason. Actually the whole picture kind of does. There's an air of paranoia throughout.

This isn't a sequel is it? Snakes on a Space Shuttle!!! ;) Just joking....awesome painting and sooner or later I'll figure out how the astronaut fits into the "snake in the grass, backstabbing elitist's in that cocktale party." Other than the inclusion of the has a very 20's Parisian "graphic" look to it. Excellent!:#1:

Love that. The profile on the guy in the upper left is especially intriguing.

NIce atmosphere, intriguing man.
pagone Featured By Owner Aug 27, 2006
its very symbolic. looks like some secret stuff going on and this astronaut is a member of some secret organization, all these high clas people looks really unsatisfied.- serpents and knives. hm. that is interesting work
YourFathersMustache Featured By Owner Aug 27, 2006
i hope this is no responce to the snakes on a plane junk out there!
soultown Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006
I'm so glad to see new work from you! :]

it is a very iconic piece from you. beautiful layered style. I went to a ball last night, and it was a bit like this :) oh, and also the speech bubbles are a fantastic touch, I don't recall if I've seen them in your work before but I think you should definitely continue them in further works. i like how there is very little negative space, you've used it all very effectively.

i also like the general colouration of it, it's such an eminent sort of colour scheme, all the golds and oranges and browns and reds. its like when they leave the party, they will all have huge fluffy coats to step outside in :)

only one thing i have a problem with - to the left of the man saying "snakes", there are the legs of the woman above him... they just seem to pop out to me, but they shouldn't really be a focal point, right?
pirate-trish Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006
man this is straight up awesome. it has a lot of the feel your old work did, I can really see a story in this!!! Love it!!!

scribblegoblin Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006
It gives the impression of some kind of complex soap opera drama. I'm so curious about what these characters are talking about.
paintedangel Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006
I love the posture and the poses of the people. Do you use models?
jasinski Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006  Professional Traditional Artist
nope. just in my mind i guess.
Russell-Reyes Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006
i love the details and especially the astronaut costume, but i have to ask...are they on a plane?
Blaklyonzero Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2006  Hobbyist Filmographer
The color setting doesn't look like it fits the personality of these types of people. Great job! I like the stylish, classy feel to it.

very classique
love the touch of the austronaut. he blends in / doesn't blend in perfectly.
i wonder if everyone's talking about him, or if anyone even notices he's there. they seem pretty self-absorbed in malicious gossip judging by the sword and the snake!
