One of my favorites. As a piano player myself, I can sympathize with this emotion. The lighting and expression is very intriguing. I never get bored looking at this one.

oh my goodness, that look;....i can feel it....when synapses like misfiring spark plugs fail to ignite engines.....fortunately it only lasts momentarily unless of course complete creative burnout occurs!

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an O.D.D. ! :winner: congrats!
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure (and ALSO, to show off people who I think are undeniably talented in their own genre of art, regardless of their #'s of fav's or pageviews. I like what I like ). Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists. If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! xoxo Sandi

I find it strange you haven't put this work up for sale on your prints page.

I find this is one of the strongest, most balanced pieces in your gallery. A very distinctive ambience positively exudes from the composition, emerging as a well toned, highly aesthetic and dramatic work.

From the blue hues to the fish-eye effect on the keyboard, this painting simply screams balance and purpose, while some of your other works look like straight copies of a photo (only a few, mind you).

Definately one of your best.

This deserves a :+fav:

HA! love it! YEs, i remember when i started piano. fidgeting around, trying to read the notes, --after not practicing for like a month ^^; ...Im better now though :D
o, anyways, i really like how you did the kid - the expression in his face, the lonley background. and i like the way the keys are done- slanting down with the shadow on them, looking bigger that usual i think. great work

haha, very cute. i love the ominous reflection of the keyboard onto the childs face as if to say it is some sort of evil.

is this about a kid who is forced to play the piano? it looks that way. :)

What great, deep colors you have chosen here! This painting wouldn't need a title written over it, it says all by itself. Lovely.

I like the blue in this one. The warping of the piano does wonders for this piece. I'm not sure how but it adds a lot of interest to it.

Those 6x6s are awesome.

I've been using acrylics. What was the brand you recommend? Daniel Smith?
How do you get soft edges?
Reply
:iconjasinski:
jasinski Featured By Owner Jul 25, 2005  Professional Traditional Artist
yup Daniel Smith acrylics.
Soft edge. I work on edges a lot, I am always unsatisfied heheh. I try not to water down the paints too much when i am working with edge issues. that helps.
