I particularly like your use of highlights in this piece...that and the long, stretched format. Well done :)

oh, why does she look so sad to be the keeper of the bee? i think it would be a fun job, if the bee did not sting me.. :)
I love the texture of this piece- warm and very inviting- yet even though the piece is this way, the girl is still unhappy or worried. I like it how she's not effected by the warm colour scheme.
haha.. does this make sense??

Wow, I love the way you've created the mood in this picture, it's very soft. It reminds me of the fall that's coming up way to quickly. You should really sell this as a bookmark, I'd buy it! Great painting :D

Stunningly beautiful. I love the concept and character design. Gorgeous colors and fantastic lighting. The expression of her face is excellent. Solid mood and ambiance. It's somber and visually fascinating.

Does it have something to do with Tori Amos, or am I obsessed with her? Maybe both... :)

maybe a little more negative space o the left though it's top knotch as always ;)

I like it without the negative space. Alot of the times when you center someting too much, or follow the rule of thirds too strictly, your images end up looking too much like portraits. This is more of a moment that we are peeking in on, not a portrait.

I can see what you mean though, symmetry is hard to get away from, but its also quite boring sometimes.

yes, I get the spontaneous element and since Degas introduced the cut off paintings the all center focus lost importance but the way the bee goes to the left makes the composition kind of mind troubling since were expecting this eye catching to occur on the rigth...

hmmm, I guess it's a clever move if intentional! :P

I also think that if the bee was on the rigth and the girl on the left we would have a more realistic snap moment because of the dynamic created by that diagonal... :D

not wanting to be too critic but I do want to try and arouse some ahestetic remarks for jas ;)

I can understand what your saying. I would like to see the three peices put together to see how they work together. Once they were displayed the position of certain elements may be more dynamic.

I mean, my work unfortunately is all portrait centered. So it is nice to see stuff like this.

well, I've seen your work and is rather more difficult to create non-centered compositions on your line of work but you just have to play with the croping when photoshing them.

start playing around and let your intuiton do the rest ;)

This (as with all your work) is beautiful!! The colors remind me of a summer day when I was kid, being chased back into my house by the bees that populated the many flowers in my yard. Cheers to another great job and giving me a chance to look back at my youth and smile!!
