So I think I'll be getting back into this art thing after years of block (okay, I might have produced one piece I was happy with in 2009, only with regard to my technique, not the subject of the portrait). I bought a crapload of oil paints and canvas seems to be cheap around here in Hipsterville. So, um. Stay tuned? :P

It's quite a lot considering that I have not used this account in some time, let alone posted any decent art (not that there's much of it... ha). Hell, I wish I had a basic level of motivation in order to produce anything serious; I've been so fucking stagnant, living in a rut for months that one cannot get out of is not a pleasant experience. I have also removed my artwork from public view. I hate a lot of it.

So, 2008 was a dead-end year as far as artistic production was concerned, the main reason for this being that I hate my old art and have not found a new style that I'm happy with, yet. In recent months, evidently, I've practiced portraiture (see Obama portrait; am putting finishing touches of a commissioned portrait of a friend), and earlier on, botanical illustration. Now, I've returned to university and am immersed in routines, schedules and reading which delays experimentation significantly. *retreats into study and exhaustion*
