Old Memories by Jarndahusky Old Memories by Jarndahusky
The years pass, but the memories remain. They may not belong to the aged, or the knowledgeable, they belong to everyone. The land scape is littered with these memories. Reasons and excuses, that is what they all are. The advances, and the desires created by people's who's names are gone from memory.

The aging rusted hulks are all that is left. Monoliths of a time filled with strife, fear, and plague. The sickness wasn't that of health. It was an infectious desire to out-do, and to rise above a menace that loomed over us. The stories that survive tell of great accomplishments, and great victories.

We wouldn't know that any of this happened by the relics that sit and rot in the hills. We go there sometimes to get what we need, but we stay there for short amounts of times. There is a certain amount of fear that we feel there. As if something were alive there still. Something that still remembers. We take only what we need, and we try to give back what is of equal value. Every time we come back, it is gone.

I say let the old ghosts sleep. We live in peace. Their great technology feeds us to this day, and we use the tools they gave us. That which is obviously without life, we leave. If it wasn't important to save when our ancestors left, then it isn't important for us either.

They will disappear, along with the memories. The old must die someday, I don't think Memories are an exception.
