Homeworld 10th: Attack Bomber by Jarndahusky Homeworld 10th: Attack Bomber by Jarndahusky
We continue our Homeworld 10 year anniversary with more paper craft ships!

I present to you the Taiidani Attack Bomber. I've always loved this design. This little guy took me forever. I think I started this around 7 last night, and got done about 4:30 this morning. NEARLY NINE HOURS OF WORK! No wonder my back is a bit sore.

Good news, my fingers have an added layer of armour from super glue!

Yeah, it was good, then it got me hooked on making them, so I kept making them! Slowly working on advancing to painting my own models as well.

That can be alot of fun once you learn how to do it.

Myeah. That part will have a very steep learning curve. Painting has never been my forte. so, it will be interesting to see what results. I can never seem to get paint to work how my mind wants it to.

Are these Homeworld models game meshes?

Yup. Original models and their textures. There are a couple of websites that have them. If you google Erik's paper models, you will find one such place. It uses papakura, a program that can import 3d models and unfold them. Very nifty and handy.

Ah....ok.

I know quite a bit about Pepakura. I've used it for about 3 years now a very cool program.

If you're planning on re-texturing your models with your own textures, there's two ways of going about it.

I'll send you a note about it as the explanation about how to do it, it can get quite lengthy!

Retexturing is of no problem really. What I'm doing is working on using actual paint. Retexturing, done that plenty. ^.^ Thank you though!

well for a start its meant for paper and card whereas superglue is not. produces better results and a more reliable fix without mess or residue. plus its cheaper.
also as a usefull tip use a sharpened match or something to apply ;)

Hmmm... I will have to check it out. As far as set time, how quick does it dry? I really enjoy super glue for that reason alone. Mind you, I get stuck to my projects a lot, but I love to just barrel through my projects. I should take my time, but whatever. I blame my personality.

yea the set time will be a little longer, but its worth it to take time and do a good job..
and u will end up with less or no gaps making for a much nicer finish.
