Fictional map of Frisland island, based on Nicolo Zeno and Mercator maps.
In this reality Frisland was discovered by Roman general Gnaeus Julius Agricola c. 90 A. D. Romans have founded there a small settlement - Castrum Iuliae. During several decades a colony supplied empire with tin and fish. Soon it was destroyed by agressive aborigenes called scraelings or siglitun.
Irish monks used this place for their rituals, they had a contacts with scraelings and have spread a christianity among eastern tribes. They described aborigenes as naked brave warriors, covererd with many tatooes. Their language was not similar to any gallic or iberian.
Frisland was discovered again in middle of IX century by Sigmund Brestirson - viking from Norway. Since that time Frisland became an important base in viking's expansions on Britain. Many settlers from Scandinavia have reached it's shores and founded many colonies. Among them - Sterktree and Kastaskogar - settlements of Danes and some small sweden villages. Soon there was a couple of kingdoms, ruled by jarls. Jarls from dynasty of Sigmund Brestirson called themselves High Jarls of Frisland. They ruled in Garder - a capital of island. But their reign wasn't long. Hersir Rorik killed all royal family during funeral and became a new High Jarl.
Now, Frisland is divided on six separate earldoms, each one wants to rule them all. Here is a year 1056. Two years more and every man will be indrawned into bloody war for crown.
