Rain Dance by jane-mirage Rain Dance by jane-mirage
I've had this image of sky and young sugarcane for a couple of years and didn't know what to do with it. I loved the clouds and the colour saturation of that light you get just before a storm in the afternoon. Finally this weekend I buckled down and went hunting for an image to fit. Hope you like it...

Many thanks to :iconlunanyxlivingstock: for the image of the woman.

I'm in the process of developing a website and I would love to display this piece. The gist of my site is female empowerment.

Sorry for the slow response, I'm not on DA much these days. You're welcome to use the piece but I'd appreciate a credit if possible and a link back to my main site at www.miragedesign.com.au.

I have a print permission for the model stock but it might be polite to link back to them too [link]

I secong the love you have for the lighting of storms. It's one of those... Beautiful-but-taken-for-granted- kinda things. But the picture is very beautiful. If you don't mind, I think I'll fave.

Congratulations! Your deviation has been chosen to be part of my Friday Fotomanip Features! These features are picked for their quality, their obscurity, and for the credit the artist gives to the stock providers. If you do not wish to be featured, please let me know. :D

Thanks...yes I've been holding onto it for the last couple of years, from time to time pulling it out and trying to find something to work with it. To me it looked a little flat on it's own (my husband begs to differ but then he's no big fan of fantasy work). Out of curiosity, what do you think?

I think it's great, the only thing I'd do different is to add a layer mask to the girl and paint a light grey into it where the shawl drops from her arms to make it look a bit more see-through but all in all it's a lovely piece!

Thanks very much. I painted a little green in but it started to get too heavy. The grey would work much better.

I meant to paint grey into the mask Hon, or you could try just very lightly erasing a small bit of that area but I like the masks much better because that way you can always get it back if you screw up!! :D If you haven't used layer masks before you should look into them, they've been life savers for me!!

I LOVE this:D You are SO right about the colors and the light right before it storms. But there is also that instance when it's half cloudy, half sunny and it's rainy. I wish I had a camera to capture such moments BUTT(:D) maybe I'll get one for my "I-Was-Totally-Born" Day
