Marty the Mutant - Painted

This is the first in a series of super-deformed style figures I sculpted for Sputnik Supplies. The line is compromised of old B-movie critters from the 50's and 60's. Marty here is from the 1955 Roger Corman flick "Day the World Ended" and will be available soon as a pre-painted statue. He stands just over 6 inches tall.

Painted by Steve Riojas.
Photographed by Paul Schiola.

These are some very nice figs - you can tell they are sculpted by you as it has a very strong 'Jamie style to it!'

Thanks Sean! Haha, I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing...
These are those pre-paints I was talking about. I think these first two are being released at the end of the month then there's more to follow next year.

Definitely a good thing to have your own strong style! You should produce more original art pieces, I'd love to see what sort of stuff you could come up with - I can see that sort of thing catching on!

I've been thinking more and more about focusing on doing my own stuff. Just always feel like I should be concentrating on the commercial side of things - not that it's working out any, lol

Holy crap! The face is genius! I love the way the eyes are set and the fact the horns are a little askew makes it even better. Really amazing job on the texture of his skin too. Great to have you back and posting.

Thanks so much! Those eyes took some trial and error, especially the third eye. Couldn't quite work out the shapes of the brows. I had a bunch of reference stills from the movie but on this everything was squat and stylised.
Thanks again! Feels good to be back posting stuff. Hopefully I can do it more often. I'd been in a bit of a rut.
