21 King Graham - Kings Quest
30 Character Challenge
Other Characters [link]

I've been meaning to draw some Kings Quest art for a while after watching Francomatic's LP of 1-7. This is King Graham specifically from installment 5 because it was my favorite. It and seven are the only ones I completed when I was younger. My sister and father and I would gather around our pc and play together, they were a lot of good memories.

I love King Graham mostly because he is father, king, but really more of an adventurer. Plus for being old and gray-haired his arms are MASSIVE. Other than that though he doesn't have much personality to speak of, he just runs fetch quests and uses strange objects to solve illogical puzzles. Really I submit this to the 30 character challenge more out of love for the game and less so out of love for the character, although Graham is my favorite of the Daventrys.

The Kings Quest games were great fun, lots of fairytales and mythic references. Tony Jay was in 6 ^^ He played an anthropomorphic dog and a druid chieftan.

I did a double take when I saw this picture. I'm impressed. It's a shame there aren't any more of these games, I miss them.

Also I too am (Like :iconamani-ishikawa:) a huge SQ fan haha. I don't know about in the US, but in the UK they have the collections of various games series (KQ, SQ and also the short lived Police quest) on sale for what'd be about $10.

If I were more of a PC gamer I'd definitely check it out. I rarely play games that aren't on a console because I only ever play games while i'm riding the stationary bike in front of the television... I'll def look them up if I have the time though.

Now you have me wishing I had a stationary bike, that and room to set one up in... But I just live in a room which I've seen closets bigger than xP. Great idea though.

the Kings Quest series was a point-and-click adventure game series back in the 90s. So you played as Graham here and you walked around the land trying to solve puzzles by trading or using items you had in your inventory. Sometimes these solutions were hilariously left-field, and often they were accompanied by outlandish and extravagant deaths if you failed. They were a good era of gaming, an era unfortunately dead now adays.

lol well this description kind of reminded me of Zelda the only real adventure game left that still continues the old ways :) and its true, the era is gone and now we have games the are good but not all of them can be considered great =/

A FELLOW KING'S QUEST FAN! OMG!!!!!!! :glomp: I grew up playing the old DOS KQ games. I've played and beat every one of them. Wish I could say the same for Space Quest, which is TOTALLY HILARIOUS.

That should be you next challenge! Roger Wilco the Galactic Janitor from Space Quest!

Omg they're hysterical. Like the games chronicle the adventures of a janitor named Roger Wilco who gets thrown into the most harebrained adventures. The game is a blatant parody of Star Wars and Star Trek both and it makes fun of some pop culture icons. :XD:
