It's been a while since the last Fallout Equestria piece, so I'm very happy to finally be able to share some Wasteland ponies with you all. here we have Rarity and Fancy Pants, as part of the White Hoof Society (ponified version of The White Glove Society). If you're not familiar with the lore of Fallout, they are basically upper class cannibals. They dress fancy, live in a tacky casino in the New Vegas Strip, and they are straight up sadistic people eaters. So of course, the picture had to convey what messed up people they are, that's why you can see the recently cooked flanks of Fleur dis Lis and Trenderhoof there on the table. I have nothing against either of these characters (I very much like them), but it made way too much sense that at a table with Fancy Pants and Rarirty those being cooked and offered as meals were Fleur and Trenderhoof respectively. The rating of "Violence/gore" is there for the implications of cannibalism, not because of how much gore there's in it.
I promise to draw some Fleur dis Lis and Trenderhoof in the future, to compensate for the horrors I created in this picture.
I found myself frustrated halfway through drawing the background for this picture, because I kept thinking it looked tacky, outdated, and rather ugly. I was about to delete all the work I had done and re-start again, when a sudden realization hit me. This is Vegas, and not only that, but it's New Vegas! It's the Fallout universe! Anything regarding luxury, opulence and class must be tacky, dated, and somewhat ugly. That's why the whole drawing is bathed in golden tones, and the columns look like washed out marble. It's all constructed to give this feeling of a golden age that really never was there. I enjoyed myself with the shading, as you can tell. Also I love drawing food. I don't always have the chance to draw food, so this one was a complete joy to work on.
As per usual with this series, here's the original picture that inspired this more twisted version
. I think I managed to retain the sense of cannibalism present, but this time spared the blood dripping from their mouths. Also I hate the way I drew that mask. It looks so stupid. I guess everyone does get better with time, even myself.
I hope you guys like it! Please let me know what you think in the comments!
