Happy New Year! Ten years and 1,000 deviations! Mostly hang out on FB these days, but thought I should drop these here in case somebody stumbles on them and likes them.

Many of these deep dream experiments start with old (and not so old) pieces of mine. While it is great fun watching DD transform an image beyond recognition, there is a somewhat limited imagery at the far end of the process. For me the trick to getting the most interesting results is in the middle where it is not longer the seed image and has not yet become another weird picture of deep dream's obsessions. In that zone you can either come up with novel and largely unpredictable results, or you can use it as a powerful, controllable visual effects filter, like a weird PS plugin with a fairly steep learning curve. I am very much in the trial and error discovery phase, and although you might think I'm posting every experiment I run, in fact it is more like one for every twenty.
