Chapter 16 October 5th, 3:45 PM “Toooooom.” “Yes, Kitten?” “We should go on a date sometime, like, a proper date. It’s been… Too long, honestly.” Tom chuckles a little at Tanaka’s whining and her remark, leaning down before ruffling her hair a little. Though he’d had a busy day at work, Tanaka elected to tag along and find somewhere cozy in the lobby to settle, keeping herself occupied while Tom worked, and joining him for his breaks and lunch. Working in general care, as opposed to the emergency room, meant Tom could find a few moments to sneak off and dote on his beloved, though not one to neglect his duties, he only ever did so when he’d ensured all matters of import were taken care of first and foremost. But check in first.” Turning off the car, Tom reaches over and flicks Tanaka’s nose gently, drawing out a soft squeak and a quiet whine from the timid young adult, who swiftly gets out of the car and retrieves her bags before Tom can enact any sort of revenge. Though Tom notices how hurried she is, he rolls his eyes slightly and fetches his own bags, having not intended to ‘punish’ her until after they got to their room. Chapter 15 September 30th, 12:30 PM “Nff… Ow…” “I know it hurts, kitten, but we’ll be home soon, I know you can tough it out a little longer.” Doing his best to console Tanaka while focusing on the road, Tom sighs softly, a hand reaching over and grasping one of Tanaka’s before a squeeze is given. Though normally he’d tease her, perhaps remarking about how neglecting her retainer again makes her third time with braces no one’s fault but her own, for once he decides against doing so, not wanting to further his girlfriend’s misery any more than it already is. Had he remembered to bring pain medicine as he usually would, her suffering would be swiftly ending, but he’d neglected to do so, leaving her more miserable than she’d like to be. Chapter 14 September 21st, 2:30 PM “Brr…” “I told you to bundle up, Tanaka, you know it starts getting cold this time of year.” “Yeah, well… I’m stubborn, you know that.” Bantering back and forth, Tanaka and Tom walk along down the sidewalk alongside the town’s mall, having decided to make a trip to go pick up some warmer clothes as the weather grows colder. Tanaka had insisted that she’d be fine without a sweatshirt, that it ‘wasn’t that cold out’, and so departed without one, only to end up regretting it as the day’s chill catches up to her. Of course, Tom wasted no time in teasing her over her stubbornness, while also showing his usual worry, not wanting her to fall sick or suffer too much in the cold. “Here, would you like to wear my sweatshirt? I can handle the cold, better than you can at least, so I’ll be fine.” He offers, knowing full well he’d be better off than Tanaka would in the cold, especially given that they’d be in and out of the mall repeatedly. Yet unlike a snake for which they wholly resemble, several of the members once composing the body remain capable and willing to continue their crime sprees in its name. A lone woman clad in red, a real thief of thieves, had only moments ago thwarted a couple of their members' most recent scheme to steal the famous Blarney Stone derived from Blarney Castle. On the run through the dimly lit streets later that night, one Carmen Sandiego had noticed in the corner of her eye multiple pursuers. Yet with her acrobatics training and skill with the grapple hook strapped to her wrist, it took very little effort to shake them off her trail through the low rooftops

This may sound like the guards have too much power, but on the contrary, it was reported that five Armstretch guards in the last year ended up on leave after being overpowered by inmates and being subjected to horrific wedgie sessions, titty-twisters from hell, and swirlies that sounded so abhorrent that they were often redacted on the reports. It was also rumored that the warden spent too much time golfing to properly run his facility. This meant that prisoners spent too much time out of their cells, and too much time fighting each other. Which led to the final, most worrisome rumor: an escape plan was being hatched at that very moment. There were three attempts and one successful escape in the last year, with one woman—her name was Alice Rosemary or Rippons or something like that—back

We know you’re in there!” The Kalypso Academy library was about the size of the gymnasium, and you could feel it. There were two floors, the first floor consisting of wide open study areas with plenty of tables and then rows of dusty, leather-filled bookshelves kept under a cramped ceiling that glowed under dim golden light. The second floor was more like a balcony that formed a square around the perimeter of the room with a railing looking down over the study area. The doors were elegantly designed mahogany with large windows in each panel, matching the regal aesthetic of the main hall and not at all fitting with the regular high school aesthetic anywhere else.
