Tavern or Inn?

I don't really do much art containing any sort of buildings, so I though I could give it a shot or two

I want you to kinda get a Ghibli-feeling

This is absolutely gorgeous work! I am in love with all the detail you've given the building, and how it's partitioned into vertical annexes is very clever and very Ghibli ;D The proportion is also very nice, you have studied the world around you and it shows. The size of the windows, doors and shingles just have that sense of rightness to them. The perspective is overall effective, if a bit iffy in the details. You don't really notice the flaws because it looks like a sketch and they also seems to fit the precarious nature of the building. Overall great job!

My one real critique is about your ideas in this piece. I don't really get the sense of an inn or a tavern; the architectural style gives me a glimmer of what you're going for, but it is lacking key elements that would really cement the purpose of the building. If it is abandoned it could maybe use an old sign, broken lights, an outside area that once would have seated many people during busy evenings. Something to communicate the intention behind all the lovely details However, if it is abandoned, then the surprisingly well kept flowers are a bit confusing with the state of the building.

So there you have it, very happy to have stumbled upon your work today. Your technique is wonderful, nobody would ever guess it was you don't paint many buildings! Looking forward to seeing more of your work, thanks for sharing it
