THEY WERE ALREADY THERE

CHAPTER 1 (CONTINUED) The digital number on the microwave changed. 17:30. A soft, electronic beep sounded from the appliance, the signal that its automatic clock-setting function had activated. The mundane sound was violently loud in the thick silence. My eyes snapped from the clock back to the windowsill. The wooden figurine was still there. Unchanged. But something outside had changed. I forced myself to look past the small carving, through the glass, to the edge of the forest. They were back. The seven figures. They had returned to their positions along the treeline, standing in their same, evenly spaced intervals. Adult-sized, shrouded in the greyish twilight, their forms blending into the vertical lines of the spruce trunks. They weren’t moving. They were simply… present. As if they had never left, and my earlier glance had been a momentary failure to perceive them. A cold, logical part of my mind began to rationalise. A trick of the light. A row of unusually shaped, thin trees.

Besides, even if it wasn't, the sheer fact that physics tend to behave differently between worlds makes such technology unfeasible for use outside of dimensions designed for such technology. The Seraphim Soul's Vessel is the physical body that a Seraphim Soul forms around themselves if they had no other notions of a physical body beforehand, or as a fallback in case any other physical bodies was seen as unviable in some sort of fashion. While a single type of Gyaos was bad enough, the Kult of Zero have made several variants. The first of these was made prior to The Night of a 1,000 Shadows: The White Baroness. The Queen Gyaos. She’s distinguished from the rest with a pure white head but also larger, tall enough to look Gamera in the eye. On top of that, her blue/violet Supersonic Scalpel ray is strong enough to pierce Gamera’s shell; in contrast, the other Gyaos need to concentrate fire to do so. She can also produce a sonic shield that’s strong enough to block energy attacks. Most notably, is the rate at which she lays eggs- a single Gyaos can lay up to 1,000 eggs; Queen Gyaos can lay up to 10,000! She was first seen in the twilight of 1999, summoning other Gyaos to her to kill Gamera once & for all. While she failed in the task, she managed to escape. Perhaps one of, if not, the most vile kaiju created by ancient humanity, the Gyaos are Kaiju created as tribute to the most vile Kaiju of them all: Monster Zero. Better known as King Ghidorah. They were created by the Kult of Zero, a collective of Atlanteans that were shunned by the Atlantean Empire for misusing mana, corrupting into Dark Mana. Their story begins 90,000 years ago. During an expedition to a cave in what would be Sicily, Salem, the leader of the Kult, came across a tablet, the writing detailing events that took place eons ago. Daimajin, Stone Guardian of Atlantis

While Gamera and his kin were the primary guardians of Atlantis, he wasn’t alone. The Atlanteans had also crafted stone giants that were given life using Atlantis’s Royal Army. This is in a similar vein to how Gamera and his kin were given life via the Atlantean Royal Guard. Each of these stone guardians were tasked with protecting the main city-states of Atlantis against the Gyaos and other kaiju. By far the most noteworthy of these stone guardians was Daimajin. Given life by the general of the Royal Army, Daimajin was a skilled fighter thanks to his large pool of Mana. With it, he could manipulate the elements- conjure great storms of lightning or ice, part the earth and water with a wave of his hand/stomp of his feet, or project fire & electricity into his massive sword. Daimajin, Stone Guardian of Atlantis

While Gamera and his kin were the primary guardians of Atlantis, he wasn’t alone. The Atlanteans had also crafted stone giants that were given life using Atlantis’s Royal Army. This is in a similar vein to how Gamera and his kin were given life via the Atlantean Royal Guard. Each of these stone guardians were tasked with protecting the main city-states of Atlantis against the Gyaos and other kaiju. By far the most noteworthy of these stone guardians was Daimajin. Given life by the general of the Royal Army, Daimajin was a skilled fighter thanks to his large pool of Mana. With it, he could manipulate the elements- conjure great storms of lightning or ice, part the earth and water with a wave of his hand/stomp of his feet, or project fire & electricity into his massive sword. The second was his durability- his stone armor was capable of shrugging off the Supersonic Scalpel the Gyaos used as their primary weapon. So that begs the question. . . what happened to him?
