Description
The (not-so) deadly sin fairies. Because they are way toooooo cute to be deadly!
They are the ones that sit on our shoulder and tempt us to be a little bit naughty
You know, not enough to go to hell, but just enough to let the steam go out!
This is Greta, the Greed fairy.
Greed is the inordinate love of possessions and desire for either material wealth, or to gain more than one needs.
Greta is the one making us say we don’t have money on us when asked for a donation. She’s the one responsible for us selling our old used car for a lot more than it was really worth. She’s also the one that told us not to share our last bag of M&M’s.
If pure selfishness is definitely anti-social behaviour, we can aspire to lead a high-quality existence, and we can desire the good things of life. It’s OK to be occasionally selfish and say ‘I deserve what I have because I have worked for it’.
The facts are that individuals create wealth by pursuing their own self-interest, and the best way to end human suffering is to create wealth. Pursuing economic self-interest has done many great things for humanity, just think of IBM and Bill Gates as example.
