Secret of the Misty Woods by jacquelynvansant Secret of the Misty Woods by jacquelynvansant
This photo-manipulation took about seven hours to complete, and it was my first real "project" using Adobe CS5.5 on my new Macbook Pro. There was a difficult challenge about three hours in -- chunks of the layers were mysteriously disappearing -- but I pressed on.

This is probably the most involved photo-manip I have done thus far, and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. In fact, I actually have four different "final results": this one with more subdued colors, another with bright colors, a sepia version, and a cyanotype version. All are gorgeous (in my opinion) and it was hard to decide which one to share.

I really had no direction with this piece: I actually began with the wall and background and simply added elements as I went along. If this piece were to have musical accompaniment, it would definitely have to be a track, probably "The Forgotten Castle", from the album Fairytale by zero-project over at Jamendo.com. Check it out... you'll be blown away --> [link]

Edit:I added more of the mushrooms scattered around to give more of a damp, earthy, forest feel. (Plus the mushroom stock is just so cute! Can mushrooms be cute?) Um, anyway. I did a few minor touch-ups on the trees, deepened some shadows, etc.

Edit: Blended a few spots better, added more mushrooms, added a bit of mist to a few spots, and put a slight blur on some of the foreground and background elements.

Thanks so much! :glomp: I'm so happy with how it turned out. I've improved a whole lot in the last couple years (artistically and with mastering software), especially in comparison to my first photo-manip from two-years ago. [link] It is amazing what better tools and more experience can do! =D
