A Small Place in the Sun Chapter one. Mr. Lucky George Grant sighed as he sat in his command chair in the pilot house of his ship, the Antelope. He idly scanned the various screens in front of him. His GPS, the two radar screens, and then he checked the instruments reading out the engine temperature, the oil, and the fuel levels. It was late into his night shift, and he was alone. He wasn't tired, just lonely up there looking out into the darkness of the night on a fairly calm sea. Four hours on and eight hours off. Just a thin light shone out here and there from several small breaks in the clouds to brighten small patches of the mist that swirled above the moor. Brian Crawford had been one of the last to return from the night march and aborted attack on the Government Army camped 8 miles away at Nairn.     “Come on lads. He thought of her face as she had flown up close to his and was startled to realize it was the same face he saw in his dreams. What did they mean?     He finally came to the edge of the forest and there, a quarter mile ahead was a small farm, made up of a very large Barn with a small cottage beside it. He ran to the cottage and knocked on the door. It opened and there stood Charlotte, the serving maid of the Inn back in town.     "Och, and where ha'e you been all night?" She yelled at him, "Was i

She had just passed into the Veil when she was suddenly startled by a voice.     "What is amiss, Elf Maiden, that has you running in such haste and fear through the King's woods?"     She did not stop to answer the question, but simply cried out. Now he was meeting with the Clan chief of the MacDonells of Glengarry, in his home on the High street.     "So Mr. Crawford, it seems you have some trouble with the Campbells. A small place in the Sun Chapter 1 Continued..... However, the date this evening was the last thing on George's mind. His purpose was to try and get some insight on Peggy's research and whether or not she intended to continue it. When they arrived they parked and walked to the front entrance of Peggy's Mediterranean style two story home. Peggy answered the door, she was wearing a white sweater of light, thin wool over a black, heavy, long sleeved shirt and wore some French cut Jeans that accentuated her curves very well. She also wore black suede boots with a heel that brought her already tall stature of Five feet, Nine inches to Five feet

Chapter 3 Strange meetings Part 2 George had left once again, the state of affairs this new enterprise created causing him to accelerate his leaving the University faculty. They didn't mind, they were tired of all the press and other people his celebrity had brought to the campus. He took a flight back to Britain. He conducted meetings with many of his old comrades in arms along with some other hand picked men he had been introduced to. In the first round of meetings he kept things simple and divulged little information, sounding the men out.  Not all of the men were single, some had families to consider, but many were looking for a change.

Steven and Peggy had handed in their resignations from USC and Kim and Neil had said goodbye to their families. It was a beautiful September day.                       The Gift of The Spirit Guide, an American Christmas Story.                         By Jacobite, a Secret Santa gift for Miyu-dreamer Part One Where to begin? Well, most of you know me as Jacobite, I am an avid lover of World history, and have had a long interest in Myths and Legends, and of course, a love of anything to do with the Fae, the mythical creatures that seem to be a part of almost every culture around the world, and in being such, a common link among all of us mortals who walk upon this world. This is a story about a woman I met on my search for legends. In 1983 I was traveling through northern New Mexico

I came to a fence and a mailbox that had the address upon it. The house was set far back on over 6 acres of land with trees and wild flowers growing. The house was a simple single level adobe cottage and in the chill of November the smoke from the chimney was a welcome sight, even though it was a beautiful day with a clear blue sky dabbled in puffy

My own young sense of curiosity far outweighed any rational sense of caution and so of course, I headed in the direction the cry had seemed to originate from. When I came upon the scene, I saw the Mountain Lion lying on top of the Fawn. Not being sure of the situation I found a long twig and quickly poked the body of the large cat, and jumped back qu

Alo told me much about his people and how long ago they had been a great nation looking after the land and helping many different tribes. Alo had watched over the land to the north and west of Santa Fe for 800 years.  Many of his people had left the lands they dwelt in as the cities grew and the suburban sprawl spread out and man took claim of more and more land in the last hundred years. I would sneak out of the house late at night to look for items that I could use for a new costume, and I would spend time in a far corner of the barn working on putting it together, sometimes only getting back to my room just as the edge of the horizon was turning from black to a dark blue before the dawning of the sun. I could hear the sound of raised voices downstairs. “Loma, can you hear me? How do you feel?” The voice of my mother asked. I picked up my cup of coffee and took a slow sip as I cleared my thoughts. “So, you never saw Alo again?” I asked finally. Far From Home: Chapter 1 - Snatched

To most people, walking around Jersey City, New Jersey before dawn was the worst idea ever. It’s not a good sign when the rat across the road looks up from its trash breakfast at the sound of your voice. Not just because you’re belting your favorite verse of “Pinch Me” with a voice that resembles a cat in a blender, mind you. Mostly because Jersey City, as I have known it, is never quiet for long. Whether it’s people shouting, sirens blaring, vehicles rolling by, or even random animals fighting, there’s always something to be heard at all hours of the day and night. August is one of the noisiest months of

Dear Jacobite1,

I am in shock. I came over to your page to leave a birthday note. I had no idea you had passed.

I feel awful for not knowing sooner. My absence made things difficult, but I'm sure you'd understand, considering we talked about that very topic. I feel especially shaken since we spoke only a few days before you passed.

You were always very supportive. I cannot even begin to express how much that meant to me. My heart has a hole knowing you have left us.

I'm sorry for leaving this rambling note on your page, but somehow, I want you to know what an impact you made on me.

I feel honored to have known you. Thank you.

Happy birthday.
