This is my first sketch that I turned into a digital image! My sister is sharing her Photoshop code with me so that I could make stuff like this.
Meet Nerr T. He is an autistic Toad that is featured prominently in my Mario & Luigi fan story. He is a computer science major from the Mushroom University and had once been an intern for Professor E. Gadd. During the events of this adventure, he had been an exchange student at the Sarasacademy having obtained an internship at the Sarasaland Empirical Palace, and had become good friends with Princess Daisy. Being on the autism spectrum, he has a lot of other interests - including a profound attraction to ancient manuscripts. This interest had been so strong, that he had taken the time to learn Ancient Funguish - the de facto language in the Mushroom Kingdom from many centuries ago.
Nerr T soon found himself traveling with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toadette as they were searching out the Legendary Seven, as Princess Peach had an ancient parchment that she hoped Nerr T might assist them with. Nerr T was able to decipher the message. He asked to join them, as he wanted to come with them on their way to the Beanbean Kingdom to possibly visit their kingdom's Museum to see their collection of manuscripts. Nerr T would end up sticking with the quartet of heroes for the rest of their adventure, becoming an integral part of their team.
I don't ever remember Nintendo having created a character with autism before, so I feel that Nerr T would be a VERY unique addition to a Mario game, especially since I have given him a lot of spotlight. I have also portrayed this likable quality in his Japanese name: キノピヘイショウ (kinopiheishou). I don't know much about Japanese, but, after doing the research, it seems quite apparent that the translation for autism in Japanese is (自閉症) jiheishō. It didn't take me long to come up with the rest.
I would love to hear what people's thoughts are for an autistic Toad. It was certainly a cinch to write down his scenes, as his traits (but not necessarily his interests) are taken directly off of myself!
