Inktober 2021 - Day 10: Death Star

This is the first Star Wars themed picture that I've published here. While I personally have never been as much into Star Wars as I have into other sci-fis, I thought the Death Star and TIE Fighters would make for an interesting drawing subject. What intrigues me most about the franchise would probably be the variety of alien creatures that George Lucas incorporated into the movies: Tauntauns (the reptomammalian creatures that the rebels rode) and Wampas (the Yeti-like creature) on Hoth, the Exogorth in the surrounding asteroid field, the various aquatic creatures on Naboo in Episode I, the rancor Pateesa under Jabba's palace, and a host of other fantastic beings (names sourced from Wookieepedia). I also like how Lucas created all the effects behind the scenes, such as a slowed-down giraffe call used for the roaring of the TIE Fighters.

These films revolutionized science fiction when the original movie came out in 1977. The genre wouldn't be the same without Star Wars.
