Description
Mario and company enter the Inverted Pyramid and are told by Princess Daisy to throw four switches scattered throughout the structure that would open the door to the Chinstar. Navigating the passages within, they encounter a member of the Broodals one-on-one in the final switch chamber and have to fight them. Defeating them, the group are instructed by Daisy through an intercom system that the quartet has to activate the switches at exactly the same time. Moments after pulling them, Daisy gets ambushed and captured by Madam Broode and the other Broodals. The scene above depicts the entire party in the final chamber about to face off. The Broodals have obtained the Chinstar and plan to use it against them, hoping to avenge themselves on Mario from the events of Super Mario Odyssey and earn Bowser's trust and employment again.
My original pencil sketch had an experimental ornate brick pattern for the floor of the chamber, but the perspective didn't fit and I removed it here. As the Chinstar was created by me, I made it blue to complete the Legendary Seven rainbow: King Boo's Crown (red), the Toadstool Gem (orange), the Star Rod (yellow), the Beanstar (green), the Chinstar (blue), the Dark Stone (purple), and the Dream Stone (white).
