Eclipsed Memories Portrait 18: Wart Betrays Bowser

Here is another pencil sketch that was drawn too long ago and should have been posted sooner. I'm going to try to do some more drawing after returning from work this upcoming week. I feel like I'm far behind on this portrait series already.

Here, Wart shows himself to be the true antagonist to my story's plot. The point of the battle phase portion of the fight ends up being not to defeat Wart, but to defeat Bowser. It is then that Wart decides that he'd had enough of the Koopa King as the alliance was simply a means to an end. The nightmare frog saw Bowser overall as a flat-out disappointment, especially when I have him say, "You're pathetic! No wonder they defeat you all the time!" I believe that to have Bowser, renowned for being Mario's arch-nemesis, getting chewed out and flat-out insulted by another lesser-known villain would be quite funny, and give Wart a very dark sense of humor when seen in the light of his ultimate scheme. There is still more to come in the fight, as the next portrait will surely be the most heartbreaking, yet also the most important moment in the whole story, being the key to beating the impossible odds and defeat Wart.
