Ms Snow Queen, ma'am? Your royalness? I...I don't want to upset you, but...you forgot to put on your pants today. It's sort of hard to oppress the masses without pants. Honestly, I'm not even sure how you managed. You clearly put on boots, left the royal bedroom, hitched up the royal wolf carriage, and headed out. At no point did you pass a mirror and go "Oh shit, my pants"?

Vaguely reminds me of an old Frazetti painting. But his was of a man and the animals pulling were bears, I think.

I like the woman better. Lol.

Psht, Frozen has almost nothing to do with The Snow Queen. It was a complete mangling of a good H. C. Andersen fairy tale.

I think it's fair to say that Frozen was inspired by The Snow Queen rather than being based on it.  But Frozen is a good work in its own right.  It doesn't have to be a slavish recreation to have merit.

I'm not asking for a slavish recreation. Hell, Disney's version of Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fairy tale adaptations and it still varies wildly in places from the original. However, those changes were done well and served the story. Not the case with Frozen. They're barely the same thing with scarcely any similarity, even in the plot.

The original?  Like most fairytales, there have been so many versions of Beauty and the Beast, that no one knows which version is the original.  The original was probably oral tradition.  Cinderella has been traced back to a story from ancient China and a story from ancient Egypt.

But Frozen isn't titled The Snow Queen, so why are you criticizing it for not being The Snow Queen?  It's a completely different story.  It was presented as a completely different story.
