This small gallery was set up mainly to encourage people whom I have photographed (most in cosplay outfit) to inquire their pictures by e-mail (j.kameko[add the roundish character here]gmail.com).
The very few samples here are all published with the models permission. There are no public sites where you could find all of my cosplay pictures. When people send me an e-mail describing the time / location and the character they played they get a return mail with their own pictures only. This may be old-fashioned but as the Web has a very long memory (you cannot withdraw what you have published) this enables the models to decide themselves what they want to be published and where. The models are welcome to use their own pictures freely for all non-commercial purposes. It is polite to mention the photographer, though.
You may not find great art on this gallery. After some 40+ years of looking the world through a camera I still have to learn how to create that. My background is more in the documentary photography.
You could say that our family has always been interested in visual arts and especially comics and cinema - both western and eastern styles. After my daughters had reached the "con" age (quite many years ago) we started visiting together various conventions (mainly in Finland). There I encountered numerous brilliant young people who have put generous amounts of their time and skills to their outfits and found most of them to be very talented models, too (the rest are just absolutely stunning
Slowly but steadily the "frequent models" circuit has expanded from my daughters and their friends to their friend's friends, etc. Every now and then I may also encounter such an exceptional "new" cosplayer that I ask the permission to photo shoot her/him/them. I am very pleased and flattered that some of them seem to recognize me positively at the next cons. The circuit expands...
Since my real name is kind of unique and there are already more than enough work related search engine hits on it I found it practical to create this pseudonym "J.Kameko" (=Kamera Kozo = camera guy) just for cosplay photography.
So, if you have been photographed during a con by an elderly gentleman and were given a business card with the name: "J.Kameko" now you have found the photographer : )
