Description

She'd found it!

Young Princess Anarotha had always longed to gaze upon the wonders that the aquatic heart of Vanarlen's tropical jungle had to offer. However, it was the fabled benevolence of the ancestral dragons that bore the most significance to her. For she knew that these elusive, jade blushed water spirits were her kin, albeit from another age and they were housed in a subterranean cave underneath the ruins of a pilgrims temple well.

Anarotha instinctively undressed, physical contact was key. Calming whispers beckoned her closer, inviting, warm breaths coddling her like a subtle summer breeze, cooling her face. Sisters, mothers, grandmother's assuring her safety. As she moved ever closer to the waters edge, the giant well appeared to open up, shadows of the trees above creating dancing figures on the cascading glass below.

Anarotha closed her eyes for a moment and by the time she had opened them again, two jade ancestors had appeared. Their lowered heads cutting through the falling water. Inquisitive eyes fixed on the girl, blazing with eternal green flames as the princess' eyes did. The stories were true. Why had the kingdom kept her from this birthright? Her breath became a confident quiver as a further two green flames and a larger shimmering silhouette began to adorn the dark space behind the central fall.

'Vur'Anya?' Anarotha fixated. 'Matriarch of the Brundiig Vale'. The prodigious reflection of the jade mother ancestor filled Anarotha's eyes as she begun to smile with an excitable, defiant, childlike devotion.

'Yes' Vur'Anya echoed telepathically. 'And who might you be, young lady?'.

Tears began to wash over the princess' freckled cheeks. There was so much to learn, to teach...To give. She wanted to be like her eldest mother. She wanted to be a dragon.
