But I am more like them than I am myself.

I swore an oath, even, that I would not...

But I do.

I wait (for you).

And I wonder if it's the greatest act of love, or the bare minimum.

Regardless, it is solid proof.

What more do you need other than the years I spent waiting to prove that my declaration of love was real?

Does it require additional, singular, peculiar indications for you to conclude this at once?

That I have not loved a single soul in this life—other than you?

For if it does, you can find them all so, so easily in my act of waiting for our souls to collide, again, this time, without delays or departures.

I said I would not wait...

Yet, for you, I do.

At the same time,

It's the least I can do after all the love and patience you've shown me, and the most I can do considering how fragile I've grown over the time we spent apart...
