Holy shit, that is one big skull! I haven't read very far in the story yet, but damn, do I wonder what alien those bones belonged to.

It kind looks like a rhino skull, but I doubt a rhino would be that big!

This is an incredible work. Reflects true alien rendering of the completely primordial realm of  R'lyeh deep beneath the polar ice.
"Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.—H. P. Lovecraft, "The Dunwich Horror

Though this series, you have captured the essence of the book as effectively as any artist I have seen. Magnificent. Thank you so much for sharing these pieces!

Just got done reading Tim Curran's The Hive, a kind of sequel to At the Mountains of Madness. This really captures the feel of a frigid, desolate, lonely and utterly inhuman realm. Those poor people seem so small and insignificant, just the way H.P. Lovecraft would have wanted. I really like the way hat you made it look as if the snow is actually blowing across the image, borne on a cold, arctic wind. Kudos on the awesome art!

Nice work, I am OK with the rough strokes:  somehow the style works with this.  Will the albino penguins appear?
