Horseshoe Old

2012 Landscape Calendar is now available, so go check it out! :D

Tough light with the clouds, but made for a very interesting HDR. This melt pool is between the island (group of trees) and the actual lake shore to the right. Check this shot - - to see the place melted. I came back here 5 days later when the sky was blue, and I will post that one also :)

Location: Garibaldi Lake, Garibaldi Provincial Park, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
Equipment: Nikon D90 + Tokina 11-16mm + Tiffen Polarizer.
Technique: Photomatix Pro 4.0 and Photoshop CS5 from 3 RAW exposures.
Download: Wallpaper up to 2560x1600, 2560x1440, and 1600x1200.

You do have awesome coasts over there, but no glaciers ;)

everything is really far away here, Australia is a really big and mostly empty county lol

Canada is the the same, really. The closest National Park is 1000 km away from me.

This has been featured in my journal!

I never tire of looking at your amazing landscape photos .... they seem to express a life of their own .... I love photography and capturing snippets of time and places .... been teaching for 39 years, maybe it is time to hang it up and start doing something a really love and perhaps be able to produce one photo in my lifetime that could compare to one of yours!!

It doesn't take up that much time - you can just do it on the side :)

I'm happy I live in Canada. Means I can eventually visit this place - family in B.C. means a chance!
Keep enjoying that amazingly surreal and gorgeous landscape - and taking photos of it! Absolutely stunning and you capture the environment and atmosphere perfectly!
